Introduction:
The purpose of this assignment is to provide a framework for students to use critical information literacy skills to create a resourced essay. In this lesson, students will look at three different websites and a few sources which references link to them to develop a thesis. Students will respond to the following question: What is critical information literacy? How can these skills be used to protect yourself personally and academically?
The role of the instructor is limited. Students will be allowed to explore the websites provided and collect information to use in their final writing assignment. The students ought to have an understanding of critical information literacy and the importance of cyber security and responsible Internet use.
